About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader / Ganger to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with experience in the Highways or Civil Engineering sector who enjoys leading teams, maintaining high standards, and delivering quality work safely and efficiently.
As a Team Leader / Ganger, you will be responsible for supervising daily site operations, managing a team of operatives, and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of operatives on site.
- Allocate daily tasks and ensure work is completed safely and on schedule.
- Maintain and promote the highest standards of health and safety compliance.
- Liaise effectively with Site Supervisors, Project Managers, clients, and other trades.
- Monitor the quality of work and ensure it meets project specifications.
- Ensure materials, plant, tools, and equipment are used efficiently and responsibly.
- Complete site documentation, reports, and records accurately and on time.
- Provide guidance, support, and on-the-job training to team members where required.
- Act as a positive ambassador for the company at all times.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Team Leader, Ganger, or similar supervisory role within the Highways or Civil Engineering industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work.
- Ability to motivate, manage, and develop a team effectively.
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability.
- Flexibility to work varying hours when required to support operational needs.
- A professional attitude and pride in both your work and the company's reputation.
Desirable Qualifications
- Street Works Qualification.
