CPSS = Sum of (Dimension Score x Dimension Weight) / Maximum Possible Score x 100 Default Dimension Weights (Schmidt & Hunter meta-analytic research): - Technical Skills: 25% - Work Experience: 20% - Behavioural Competency: 20% - Cultural Fit: 15% - Cognitive / Problem-Solving: 12% - Growth Potential: 8% Score Scale: 1-3 = Below Standard | 4-6 = Meets Baseline | 7-8 = Above Average | 9-10 = Exceptional Candidate Rank Index = Candidate CPSS / Highest CPSS in Pool x 100 Weights are configurable in the Advanced Settings panel and must total 100%.
CPSS Tier Classification: - 80-100: High Potential - Strong alignment across most dimensions. Recommended as a priority hire. - 55-79: Meets Criteria - Solid in several areas with development gaps worth evaluating. Conditional or panel hire. - 0-54: Below Threshold - Significant gaps across multiple success dimensions. Not recommended to advance. For senior / executive hiring: increase weight on Growth Potential and Behavioural Competency; reduce Technical Skills weight. For volume / entry-level hiring: increase Technical Skills and Experience weights.
A Candidate Predictive Success Score (CPSS) is a structured hiring metric that calculates the predicted probability of a candidate succeeding in a role by scoring them across multiple evidence-backed dimensions including skills, experience, behavioural competencies, cultural fit, cognitive ability, and growth potential. The scores are weighted and normalised to produce a single 0 to 100 score with a tier classification.
